Chapter 24: Bravely Battling the Monster

Many foreign viewers watched as Qin Chuan once again evaded the monster, and one by one they were left staring in disbelief.
“Why is this kid always so lucky?”
“How did he dodge it again?”
“How on earth is he holding his breath underwater for so long?”
“Is that monster fish blind? How could it miss such a huge target?”
…
Qin Chuan had noticed the monster long ago, which was why he was able to evade its attack in the very first instant.
He turned around, his brows furrowing. Even though he had gone a long time without breathing air, he showed no sign of discomfort.
Even with only a fraction of the power of the Demon Child Nezha, he could still hold his breath underwater for a very long time.
Qin Chuan was deeply displeased with the ugly creature. So he made his move, swimming straight toward the monster.
The monster had failed to bite Qin Chuan and was furious. It bared its teeth and opened its jaws at him once more.
At that moment, a line of text appeared on the livestream screen:
[Monster Name: Blade Shark
Threat Rating: Three Stars
Abilities: Biting, Aquatic Affinity]
“This is the monster’s information!”
“My God, it really is a shark! Look at its strength—it’s actually a three-star monster. Can Qin Chuan handle it?”
“A three-star monster? This thing definitely isn’t weaker than the Azure Dragon Lizard. Qin Chuan is actually swimming toward it instead of running away. Is he trying to get himself killed?”
Everyone was speechless. After escaping the danger, Qin Chuan had not only failed to flee—he had taken the initiative and swum toward the monster.
What exactly was he trying to do?
Could he really be planning to fight back?
This was underwater. Qin Chuan’s body was so small—how could he possibly shake such a colossal beast of the deep?
Not a single person believed he could succeed. In their eyes, Qin Chuan’s actions were nothing more than an egg striking a rock.
“Qin Chuan, why aren’t you running?”
“If you want to fight it, you should at least lure the monster onto land!”
“Qin Chuan, you’re still too young. You’re no match for that monster!”
“That’s a three-star monster. You don’t stand a chance!”
“Underwater, fish rule the world. Humans can bring out only thirty percent of their combat power in the water—perhaps even less.”
…
No one favored Qin Chuan. Although he had escaped the previous attack, he should never have taken the initiative to strike.
Judging by the speed he had displayed earlier, he could have escaped completely. Why, then, was he not running?
Everyone found it difficult to understand.

“Trust Qin Chuan. He isn’t foolish,” the dean said.
Bingbing hesitated when she heard this, staring nervously at the livestream. All she could do was hope that Qin Chuan would work a miracle.
“Trust Qin Chuan. I also believe he’s no ordinary child. Don’t forget what he did before.”
Although Long Weiguo was worried as well, he still felt that no one should jump to conclusions before the very end.
Everyone watched the livestream without blinking, completely absorbed as they waited to see how Qin Chuan would resolve the crisis.
Water rushed and roared, while a string of bubbles rose through the livestream.
They saw Qin Chuan shoot through the water like an arrow, heading straight for the Blade Shark. His speed was astonishingly fast, causing everyone to widen their eyes and gape in disbelief.
He was far too fast. Like a racing car accelerating, he quickly closed the distance to the Blade Shark.
Bang!
Qin Chuan slammed into the Blade Shark.
Everyone had assumed that, given Qin Chuan’s tiny body, even crashing into the Blade Shark would have no effect whatsoever.
But they had been wrong.
The Blade Shark was sent tumbling through the water as if it had collided with a massive boulder.
It was utterly unbelievable.
Many people were bewildered. Had Qin Chuan really done that?
How old was he, anyway?
Compared with the Blade Shark, he should have looked like nothing more than a toy.
Yet the truth was that this “toy” had sent the Blade Shark flying.
How much strength would that require?
How heavy was the Blade Shark?
At least several tons, surely.
And yet such a monster had actually been knocked away by Qin Chuan.
Could he be stronger than a three-star monster?
Was that even possible?
They had followed Qin Chuan’s livestream all the way. Although some people had claimed that he was extraordinarily powerful, all they had witnessed so far—aside from his remarkable luck—was nothing particularly astonishing in terms of raw strength.
But now they had seen it with their own eyes. Qin Chuan had single-handedly sent a several-ton monster flying underwater.
Could such terrifying power truly have burst from Qin Chuan’s body?
“How did Qin Chuan manage that?”
“Could it have come from something he won in a lottery?”
“Wasn’t the prize from his first draw a ring?”
“Don’t tell me Qin Chuan gained that incredible strength through the ring.”
“That was a spatial ring, wasn’t it? How could it contain such terrifying power?”
“Perhaps it came from the Heavenly Thunder Art skill book he won in the second draw. Maybe it strengthened his physical abilities.”

…
Opinions varied wildly regarding the source of Qin Chuan’s strength. No one knew where it had truly come from.
They all agreed that it must have been obtained through one of the lottery draws. No one considered the possibility that Qin Chuan had already possessed such strength before entering the Forbidden Land.
That would have been unscientific.
“How terrifying.”
This was underwater, after all.
And yet he was actually more frightening than a three-star Blade Shark.
“Qin Chuan is attacking again!”
They saw that, after landing the first blow, Qin Chuan began pressing his advantage. He gave the Blade Shark no chance to fight back, chasing after it and striking with the speed of the wind. Though he was small, the commotion he caused was anything but.
Wave after wave of bubbles surged through the lake, seriously obstructing even the livestream viewers’ vision.
“I can’t see anything! Damn it!”
“We can’t see at the crucial moment! This is torture!”
“This is so realistic, so thrilling—and the lack of visibility is terrifying!”
“He is the pride of Huaxia!”
Yes, he truly was the pride of Huaxia.
All the people of Huaxia were cheering, brimming with excitement.
To see a three-star lake monster beaten so brutally was simply spectacular.
Bang!
A tremendous crash startled everyone.
They turned their eyes to the livestream, but the screen was completely obscured by bubbles. The suspense was agonizing, and many were tempted to file complaints.
Before long, however, the view shifted to the shore. When they saw what had happened there, the entire audience was once again left dizzy with shock.
A monster was lying on the bank.
And who else could it be but the Blade Shark?
“When did that monster get onto the shore?”
“Did the Blade Shark use so much force while trying to escape that it accidentally flew onto land?”
“Could Qin Chuan have thrown it ashore?”
“No way…”
Although no one dared believe that Qin Chuan had hurled the monster out of the lake, every other explanation seemed far less likely.
After all, Qin Chuan was the one who had managed to drive the Blade Shark back underwater.
