Volume One, Chapter Three: That Man Could Not Be Ye Tian
“Senior Brother Bai Tao, come quickly and take a look.”
Su Bai Tao approached with a gentle smile. “What is it?”
“Look at the person in that Rolls-Royce Phantom—isn’t that Ye Tian?”
Upon hearing this, Su Bai Tao felt an inexplicable sense of amusement.
“Yu Wei, what are you thinking? A Rolls-Royce Phantom costs at least ten million. How could Ye Tian, a poor man just released from prison, possibly afford one?”
As the convoy of Rolls-Royces left the neighborhood, Shen Yu Wei sighed with regret.
She couldn’t shake the feeling that the man riding in the Phantom was Ye Tian.
There was no proof.
It was simply a woman’s intuition.
But even if it were Ye Tian, what difference would it make?
Nothing could go back to the way it was, could it?
Right now, having Senior Brother Bai Tao was more than enough for her!
Shen Yu Wei turned to Su Bai Tao, a sweet smile gracing her face. “Senior Brother Bai Tao, let’s go get our marriage certificate.”
Su Bai Tao smiled gently. “Alright.”
…
Inside the Rolls-Royce, Ye Tian’s expression was calm, as if nothing had happened. Yet his clenched fists betrayed his inner turmoil.
“Brother Tian, don’t be sad.”
Li Cheng sighed, patting Ye Tian’s shoulder in consolation. “She’s just a woman; don’t be heartbroken over this. If you ever need a woman, just tell me—I have plenty of sisters for you to choose from.”
Ye Tian ignored Li Cheng’s teasing and asked calmly, “Did you know all along?”
Li Cheng nodded. “At this point, I won’t hide it from you anymore.”
“After you got out of prison, I looked into your background and discovered the truth.”
“When you were released, I wanted to tell you but didn’t know how to bring it up, so I kept quiet.”
Ye Tian nodded and inquired, “Her company—is it supported by you?”
In just three years, growing a company from a few million in assets to over a hundred million was beyond Shen Yu Wei’s capability alone.
Li Cheng admitted, “Yes, part of it was my funding.”
Having received the answer he wanted, Ye Tian fell silent.
He understood what Li Cheng was thinking.
Since he had investigated him, Li Cheng must have known how deeply Ye Tian loved his wife.
After Ye Tian’s release, with his abilities, he could easily have established a world-class conglomerate.
And his wife would undoubtedly be the helmsman of that empire.
But Li Cheng did not want to see that happen.
He hoped to create a bond with Ye Tian through marriage, so the Li family could hitch a ride on his success.
…
The promise of a century of wealth and honor.
Li Cheng knew Ye Tian’s character well; he dared not act covertly but could openly support Shen Yu Wei’s company under the guise of repaying a debt to Ye Tian.
“The heavens seem to drive men mad before their ruin.”
If Shen Yu Wei were still holding onto a company worth only a few million, would her first love have returned to rekindle their past?
Even if Su Bai Tao had come back, she wouldn’t dare to act so decisively.
After all, Ye Tian had served three years in prison for her.
If she angered Ye Tian, and he decided to go all out, she would suffer greatly.
But now it was different—Shen Yu Wei’s net worth had surpassed a hundred million. She was a rising star in the business world, with many eager to curry favor.
A minor traffic accident that was already resolved wouldn’t cause much trouble even if it were exposed.
No ripple of scandal would arise.
So what if the truth was uncovered?
Anger?
Not likely.
Li Cheng’s little scheme was understandable.
Ye Tian did not blame him.
Li Cheng was merely a catalyst.
The most important thing was that Shen Yu Wei never considered him seriously from the start.
Ye Tian took a deep breath, his gaze sharp and resolute as he declared, “The past is behind us. From now on, I will make everyone know the name Ye Tian. I will overturn this world!”
Li Cheng slapped his thigh excitedly. “Brother Tian, it’s great to hear you say that. With your talents, it’s a shame to be tied down by just one woman.”
“Come on, let me introduce you to my sister. She’s the most beautiful woman in Jiang City—I guarantee you’ll be satisfied.”
Ye Tian shook his head helplessly. “I’m not in such a hurry. Let’s focus on more important matters first.”
“Brother Tian, this is important.”
Li Cheng looked sheepish. “My sister has had a strange illness since childhood, and no doctor has been able to cure her. With your abilities, I was hoping you could help.”
Ye Tian shot him a glance. “So you think I’m just a laborer?”
Li Cheng swore, “If you can cure her, I promise to let her marry you.”
“Alright then.”
Ye Tian nodded indifferently.
He had nowhere else to go anyway and might as well see the situation.
To be honest, although he had studied much theory, actually treating an illness made Ye Tian a little nervous.
He hoped he could cure Li Cheng’s sister’s strange condition.
Li Cheng immediately perked up, shouting at the driver to go faster.
…
Longcheng International Hotel, 18th Floor.
Li Cheng handed Ye Tian a keycard with a sly grin. “Brother Tian, you go in. I won’t come with you.”
Ye Tian rolled his eyes silently and opened the door to Room 1804 by himself.
The next moment, Ye Tian was stunned by the scene before him.
Lying naked on the bed was a flawless and perfect figure.
Beautiful!
Absolutely breathtaking!
Her long legs were especially captivating—straight and slender without a trace of excess flesh, embodying every man’s fantasy of perfect legs.
A fire ignited deep in Ye Tian’s lower abdomen.
After three years in prison without tasting meat, he was ravenous.
Seeing such a stunning beauty stirred a restless desire within him.
Suddenly, Ye Tian’s senses sharpened—something was amiss.
He sniffed the air and his eyes darkened with concern:
“Is there an aphrodisiac in the perfume?”
He quickly closed the door and approached the bed, catching a fresh scent on her body.
Ye Tian rapidly pressed several acupuncture points, his fingers inadvertently brushingI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
