Chapter 18: Xu Ruowei's Plan
One must admit, Xu Dahai was the only somewhat sane and intelligent person in the family. He understood perfectly well why his family had everything they did now—nothing else but Xu Ye’s foolish infatuation.
It was one thing for his daughter not to grasp this, but to trample on it mercilessly, even offending others? Wasn’t that sheer stupidity?
“What do you know?”
“Forget it, I’m not bothering to explain to you.”
“Anyway, my affairs are none of your concern.”
“Really, it’s just a rich second-generation kid, I’ve seen plenty of those.”
“Am I only powerless against him?”
“What a joke!”
“If I can make even Xu Ye obediently act like my dog, then I can do the same with anyone else!”
Xu Ruowei wore a look of impatience and superiority. She had been idolized for over four years—how many people had pursued her? Enough to circle the Earth multiple times. Among them, how many were her sycophants? Even if not a million, at least eight hundred thousand!
What was Xu Ye? At best, just one of them. Apart from having some money, he was nothing impressive. Letting him worship her was a great favor she had bestowed upon him. If he didn’t cherish it, fine, but to dare treat her like this today? That was a slap to his own face!
“Enough, Dad, Mom, you don’t have to say anything. This time I have to teach him a lesson, or else he’ll forget he’s just a dog beneath my feet!”
Having been adored for more than four years, Xu Ruowei had completely overlooked one thing: many people only fawned over her because of her wealth. She credited everything to her appearance, believing that if she could charm Xu Ye, let alone others.
But they would never understand—they were all unworthy of her.
The only one she truly liked was her Bei An. He was a thousand times, ten thousand times more handsome than Xu Ye. That filthy sycophant Xu Ye? How could he possibly deserve her affection? Having a few filthy coins was nothing impressive.
She was not shallow and certainly could not be won over by money alone. Hmph!
Suddenly, she thought of something and hurried back to her room, locking the door. Taking out her phone, she dialed Bei An’s number.
“Hey, Bei An, I’ve thought of a better plan.”
“The welcome party ended today without a celebration, didn’t it?”
“How about we make it up tomorrow, and you get Jiang Yang to confess to me in public?”
“Of course, Bei An, don’t misunderstand—I would never accept Jiang Yang’s confession.”
“But you can post the whole confession on the campus network. When that filthy sycophant Xu Ye sees it, he won’t stay calm; he’ll probably come begging me for forgiveness, crying.”
Bei An’s eyes lit up instantly. “Great idea! That Xu guy is just using his money to try to force you to submit, right?”
“Then let him know clearly that you could be snatched away anytime. Let’s see how anxious he gets!”
Xu Ruowei smirked proudly when Bei An agreed. That damned filthy sycophant Xu Ye actually dared to play tricks on her. Once she pulled this move tomorrow, she wanted to see how he would react. Let him squirm!
She then blocked Xu Ye’s phone number and WeChat contacts before happily flopping onto her bed. Only by doing this could Xu Ye go crazy tomorrow, come to her, kneel in public, and pay for the celebration. Finally, she opened Douyin, and the room filled with the sound of a short video titled, "Girls, ever met a loser guy?"
...
That night, Xu Ye slept soundly.
Because he could see with his naked eyes that the future had already changed.
There was news about Su Zijin, and it turned out to be from a close brother and gaming teammate he had known for over four years.
But just before dawn, he suddenly had a dream.
In the dream, he found himself in a private cinema, lying on a huge round bed over five meters wide. The lighting was pink, and the atmosphere indescribably intimate.
Beside him was a steady, reliable man with muscular build and a full beard, standing over eight feet tall.
Then he spoke.
“Will you watch one more movie with me?”
“Let’s watch ‘First Kiss,’ or maybe ‘Love Letter.’”
The voice was clear and crisp, soft and gentle, with a hint of coquettishness that sounded incredibly pleasing.
Yes, it was Su Zijin’s voice.
Xu Ye was so startled he immediately opened his eyes, a cold sweat breaking out on his back.
Damn!
He got out of bed and slowly walked to the balcony.
“...Jin Shen, you scared me awake so early.”
Thankfully, he probably hadn’t triggered any of the three great laws of life. QQZJ... should... probably... definitely be the person he thought it was.
Xu Ye grew more anxious the more he thought about it and hurried back to his room to grab his phone, preparing to discuss a very important matter with QQZJ.
“Can you send me a photo? Please don’t mess with me.”
But just as he was about to unlock his phone, a WeChat message popped up first.
QQZJ: “Up. Uncle Jiu’s spell chart.jpg”
A knowing smile tugged at Xu Ye’s lips. “What a coincidence, I just woke up too.”
QQZJ: “Voice message (3s)”
Xu Ye played it, and the clear, crisp voice came from the speaker.
“Are you going to school today?”
His heart skipped a beat. “Yes, I’m heading there right now.”
QQZJ: “Smile emoji”
QQZJ: “Picture.jpg”
QQZJ: “Picture.jpg”
“Help me choose which looks better?”
Xu Ye looked and saw two dresses.
But that wasn’t the point—the key was that one of them was exactly the beige dress Su Zijin wore most often in the previous life!
It was a beige dress, elegant and exuding a literary charm.
Without even glancing at the other, Xu Ye hurriedly tapped the screen repeatedly.
Wild Xu: “1, 11, 11111!”
QQZJ: “I also prefer this one.”
Xu Ye smiled, about to say something when another voice message arrived.
“When will you go to school?”
“You’re not going to immediately rush to apologize to your white moonlight again, are you?”
When she asked the second question, her tone carried a strange nervousness.
“Impossible! I told you I’m done with her!”
Xu Ye replied, then added, “Today’s just the official return to school, no classes, so there’s no need to rush. Around ten o’clock is fine.”
Actually, he didn’t have to go today, but early in the morning, Su Zijin was already asking which dress looked better and what time he’d arrive. Wasn’t it obvious?
She was clearly going to school today!
Meeting Su Zijin was one of the things Xu Ye most wanted to do after his rebirth. Now that it was about to happen, there was no way he would miss it.
