“Brother, brother—” Shi Zhaodi hurriedly embraced Jiang Hao’en and said, “It doesn’t hurt. Really, it doesn’t hurt at all!”

No one knew how long it took, but Jiang Hao’en finally relaxed. The first thing he said was—

“The medicine kit!”

His gaze turned toward the maid.

Seeing Jiang Hao’en’s reaction, Mrs. Jiang finally let out a sigh of relief. She knew he had at last calmed down.

She turned to the maid beside her and instructed, “Go get the medicine kit for Young Master!”

Jiang Hao’en had not suffered an episode for a long time. The Jiang family had nearly forgotten that he was autistic, so when he relapsed this time, everyone in the household was caught completely off guard.

“Everyone, go back to work!” Mrs. Jiang said before leaving Jiang Hao’en’s room.

A newly hired maid, the one who had triggered Jiang Hao’en’s episode that day, was still kneeling in the living room. Her entire body trembled faintly, whether from fear or nervousness, no one could tell.

As Mrs. Jiang passed her, she tossed out, “Come with me!”

Then she left Jiang Hao’en’s room.

The maid delivered the medicine kit to Jiang Hao’en, quietly closed the door, and withdrew.

Only Jiang Hao’en and Shi Zhaodi remained in the bedroom.

Jiang Hao’en gently pulled open Shi Zhaodi’s school uniform. The blood seeping through her sweater looked even more shocking.

“Brother, I’m fine.” Shi Zhaodi comforted him instead.

Jiang Hao’en reached out to remove her clothes.

When the movement tugged at her wound, Shi Zhaodi could not help shrinking back in pain.

Jiang Hao’en immediately stopped. Looking at her, he said slowly, “Bandage the wound.”

“Then I’ll take it off myself!”

Gritting her teeth, Shi Zhaodi removed her clothes halfway, exposing her right shoulder.

Jiang Hao’en stared at the wound, upon which he had left a row of clearly visible bite marks.

His already expressionless face became even more rigid.

“Brother, brother, it doesn’t hurt. Really!” Shi Zhaodi said with a smile, though tears slid down her cheeks.

Jiang Hao’en pressed his lips tightly together and said nothing.

With the utmost care, he disinfected the wound, applied medicine, and bandaged it.

That evening, because Shi Zhaodi had injured her shoulder, Jiang Hao’en insisted on feeding her dinner.

As Jiang Hao’en fed her, Shi Zhaodi watched him with a bright, beaming smile.

“Brother, you’re really handsome.” With food still in her mouth, Shi Zhaodi spoke indistinctly.

Jiang Hao’en froze for a moment, his lips pressed together as he gave no reply.

Yet his face could not help turning faintly red.

After finishing dinner and her homework, Shi Zhaodi finally returned to her bedroom.

Her mother had already come home and was sitting in a chair, apparently waiting for her.

“Mom—” Shi Zhaodi called as she set down her schoolbag.

“Zhaodi, let Mother take a look at the injury on your shoulder.” Mrs. Shi looked at her daughter and spoke with a grave expression.
