Chapter 113: Captain Zhang, do you bring death wherever you go?
Kamon collapsed to the ground, lying in a pool of blood, his eyes wide as he stared at Du Fang. His gaze was filled with disbelief; he could not seem to comprehend that he had just died—that he had died in such a muddled, senseless way. All the words he had spoken before—were they all cast before swine?
"I... my brother... is a national-level Dream Weaver of the Federation... he... he won't let you go," Kamon wheezed, his voice hoarse as he clutched his spurting neck, his eyes brimming with venom.
However, before he could finish, *thwack!* A blood-stained pencil plunged violently into his neck. *Thwack, thwack, thwack.* It pierced repeatedly.
"How dare you threaten my brother-in-law?!"
"How dare you threaten my brother-in-law!"
The sister-in-law crouched beside Kamon, gripping the pencil with a morbid, wide-arced grin on her face, repeatedly stabbing and retracting it.
"Su-su must protect the best brother-in-law in the whole world!"
"Brother-in-law can only be eaten by Su-su; no one else is allowed to touch him!"
She chirped happily as she stabbed.
Du Fang: "..."
"That's... enough."
At Du Fang's words, the sister-in-law stopped. She tilted her head, giving him a pure and sweet smile. "Alright, brother-in-law."
The sister-in-law... was truly too well-behaved.
Du Fang returned the blood-stained pencil to his pocket. He looked at the dead Kamon on the floor and then at the security guard who had fallen by the door, shaking his head with a sigh. The profession of Dream Weaver was truly cruel and dangerous. No one ever knew when death might arrive.
Behind him, footsteps echoed. Zhang Changlin hurried over, clutching his kidney area and limping. He took one look at the corpses and the blood covering the floor, and his already dark face grew even gloomier.
"Is it over?" Zhang Changlin asked.
Du Fang nodded and pointed to the dead Kamon. "He tried to kill me, so I killed him."
Zhang Changlin’s eyes narrowed as he took in Kamon’s blonde hair and blue eyes. "A foreign Dream Weaver?"
"Yes, he said he was from the Federation, a mercenary Dream Weaver."
"A mercenary Dream Weaver from the Federation? We’re in trouble. The Federation Dream Weaver Association is the most domineering among all nations..."
"Oh, right. He also said he had a brother who is a national-level Dream Weaver in the Federation. He threatened me, so my sister-in-law stabbed him to death."
"Hiss... a brother who is a national-level Dream Weaver? If he’s that impressive, how did he end up as a mercenary... wait, since when did you have a sister-in-law?!!!"
As the two exchanged words, Zhang Changlin suddenly felt something was off. He stared at Du Fang. A sister-in-law? Since when did Du Fang have a sister-in-law?
"From this Dream Disaster... I just met her," Du Fang explained. "Su-su, come out and meet Team Leader Zhang."
Zhang Changlin was stunned, and his expression changed drastically. He wanted to shout, "There's really no need for that," but before the words could leave his mouth, the scene before him shifted.
An incredibly terrifying, yet strangely familiar pressure slammed down upon him. Zhang Changlin let out a muffled groan as the wound at his waist burst open again, fresh blood spraying out like a severed pipe. But that wasn't the worst part.
The worst part was... a blood-dripping pencil tip was pressed against his carotid artery. The sharp point pricked his neck, and vaguely, Zhang Changlin could even smell the scent of the pencil that had once stabbed his kidney!
"Uncle, hello! Brother-in-law asked me to meet you!"
"Do you know me now?"
The sister-in-law’s pencil pressed lightly into his artery. Zhang Changlin felt a chill instantly spread through his body; the fear that left him unable to move seemed to seep in through that very point.
"Su-su, stop it!" Du Fang said.
"La-la-la-la~ Alright!" The sister-in-law obediently pulled the pencil back, and the terrifying pressure vanished entirely.
Zhang Changlin staggered back a step, clutching his waist, filled with a faint sense of melancholy. He watched the girl in the white dress—stained with blood, her face obscured by black hair, and covered in black veins like a shattered piece of porcelain—and pursed his lips, unsure whether to cry or laugh.
*Little Du, your family... is still just as unique as ever.*
Dispelling the fluctuations of his Dream Spirit, Zhang Changlin let out a breath. Clutching his waist with a trembling hand, he struggled to pull out a cigarette, lit it, and hung it from his lips. He needed to smoke to calm his nerves. Once he finished one, he lit another.
"This might be a bit of trouble," Zhang Changlin said, exhaling a cloud of smoke. "The root of this Dream Disaster was that pen you put in your pocket, right? A mysterious Forbidden Artifact..."
"The person inside thought that by shedding a little blood, they could activate the Dream Disaster of the artifact, but they didn't expect to have all their own blood sucked dry. It's a classic case of lacking respect for a Forbidden Artifact."
"The Dream Disaster appeared and shrouded the entire manor. What was the goal? It certainly wasn't just for fun. Then, this Federation mercenary Dream Weaver appeared, looking to kill."
"We can pretty much confirm their target was Old Master Su. They wanted to make it look like a murder committed by a Dream Disaster."
As the captain of the Wildfire Squad, Zhang Changlin had a sharp mind and had basically pieced the situation together.
Du Fang nodded and pointed to Kamon’s corpse. "Team Leader Zhang, before he died, he said the Federation Dream Weaver Association wouldn't let me off... so, am I in trouble?"
Zhang Changlin laughed. "Don't worry. He’s nothing."
"The Federation Dream Weaver Association is indeed the most powerful in the world and quite domineering, but our country's association is no slouch either. They sent a mercenary to our country to commit murder and got killed; if anything, we should be the ones demanding an explanation from them, not the other way around." Zhang Changlin sneered.
"As for that brother who’s a national-level Dream Weaver, do you really think our country doesn't have national-level Dream Weavers of its own?" Zhang Changlin shook his head while chewing on his cigarette. "Don't worry, you'll be fine. Besides, our National Association President is a very protective person."
Zhang Changlin’s smile was bright. Hearing this, Du Fang finally relaxed.
"I’ll send the message out and have Wen Ji investigate this man’s identity. Once we know who hired him, we’ll basically have the mastermind."
With that, the two left the scene and headed toward the dining hall.

At the foot of the mountain, the drizzling rain began to stop.
Su Hao, puffing on a cigar, suddenly felt that something was wrong. So much time had passed, and he still hadn't seen Kamon and the others return. A sense of unease began to well up in his heart.
"Useless trash. Why haven't they finished it yet?" Su Hao frowned, tugging at his suit collar. He got back into his luxury car, which slowly drove along the winding asphalt road back toward the manor on the summit.
As soon as he reached the manor, he saw that the lights were blazing. The fog formed by the Dream Disaster had long since completely dissipated.
Su Hao’s eyes narrowed. Without a moment's hesitation, he slammed the car into reverse, floored the gas pedal, and the vehicle turned into a dark shadow, speeding back down the mountain into the night. He pulled out his phone and made a call: "Book me a flight to the Federation immediately! Quick! Be fast!"
After descending the mountain, Su Hao watched from the thicket as one armed vehicle after another drove toward the hilltop manor. His face turned hideous.
"It failed?"
"This mercenary Dream Weaver squad I spent hundreds of millions to hire... they just failed and were wiped out?"
"Doesn't that mean my hundreds of millions went down the drain?!"
Fury boiled within Su Hao; he felt as if his heart were bleeding. Hundreds of millions gone, the mysterious Forbidden Artifact gone, the inheritance rights to the Su family gone... everything was gone! All his beautiful dreams had shattered.
"Damn it!"
"Kamon is a piece of trash. So much for a 'gold-medal' mercenary squad, bragged about to the heavens, but in reality, just trash, trash!"
After venting his frustration by pounding on the steering wheel, Su Hao suddenly thought of something.
"Right, Kamon has a brother who is a national-level Dream Weaver. Even if they didn't get along, the brother won't stand by and watch now that the younger one is dead!"
Without hesitation, Su Hao floored the gas and headed for the Jiangling City airport. With Kamon dead, his identity wasn't a secret, and since he was the one who hired him, he would inevitably be investigated. He had to leave Jiangling City as fast as possible! Otherwise, not only would his dreams be shattered, but he himself might be finished.

Back at the Su family manor on the summit, Du Fang and Zhang Changlin returned to the dining hall.
Chen Xi had already notified the Dream Weaver Association after waking up, so armed vehicles and ambulances had already arrived. The Su family had their own professional medical team, so they didn't need the ambulances, but the servants and maids who had died in the Dream Disaster needed to be processed.
The familiar police chief walked into the dining hall. He looked at Zhang Changlin, who was clutching his waist, and his face twitched.
"Team Leader Zhang... it’s you again." The chief took a deep breath.
Schools, bathhouses, hospitals, wealthy manors... "Do people just die everywhere you go?"
Zhang Changlin nearly had a breakdown on the spot. *I’m innocent!* What did that look in the chief's eyes mean? Did this incident have anything to do with him? Du Fang was there with him every single time, wasn't he?
The chief naturally saw Du Fang as well, but looking at Du Fang’s pristine appearance and flawless features, compared to Zhang Changlin’s bruised face and the miserable state of his kidney, the chief concluded that, without a doubt, Zhang Changlin must have been dragging Du Fang down.
"No need to explain, Team Leader Zhang. I understand," the chief sighed, waving a hand.
Su Xiaoyu was still shaken, her eyes red as she stayed by the side of the unconscious Old Master Su. However, after the professional medical Dream Weaver team took over, the old man’s injuries were deemed not life-threatening.
The old man slowly woke up, his face pale and his state quite poor, lacking his usual spirit.
"Grandpa!" Su Xiaoyu’s eyes turned red; she had clearly been crying for a long time. Seeing that her grandfather was okay, the heavy stone in her heart finally fell.
"Xiaoyu, come here, let Grandpa see you!" The moment he woke up, the first thing Old Master Su did was call for her. Su Xiaoyu hurried over, and after a brief inspection, the old man let out a sigh of relief.
"As long as you're okay, Grandpa is relieved." Old Master Su smiled.
Su Xiaoyu couldn't hold back her tears any longer; they streamed down her face as she threw herself into his arms and began to sob.
Du Fang stood to the side, one arm held by his sister-in-law, while Luo Luo secretly reached out and held his large hand. Du Fang turned his head to look. Luo Luo was clutching her pink pig doll, looking up at him with pursed lips.
"Daddy, Luo Luo missed Grandpa."
