“Well, look who it is! Isn’t this Qingqian and that phony fortune teller, Ye?”

Chen Kai strolled up to Lin Qingqian and Ye Tianci, a mocking smirk on his face, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
Ye Tianci glanced at him coolly and said, “Chen Kai, are you just looking for trouble?”
Rolling his eyes, Chen Kai sneered, “That’s right, I am. What are you going to do about it?”
“I really don’t get it. What’s so great about a lame fool like you? Why would Lin Qingqian choose you?”
Lin Qingqian’s delicate brows knitted together. “Chen Kai, you’d better show some respect!”
His gaze greedy, Chen Kai leered at her and chuckled, “Lin Qingqian, you top the Beauty List of Shu City. Why settle for Ye Tianci?”
“He’s not much to look at, and he’s a cripple! Isn’t this a flower planted in cow dung?”
“You’re even prettier than Lin Weiwei. If you come with me, I’ll dump Lin Weiwei on the spot!”
“Our Chen family is filthy rich. With me, you’ll never run out of money. Isn’t that a hundred times better than being with this cripple?”

Ye Tianci looked at him calmly.

“I say you won’t, and that means you won’t!”

“Tianci!”
Lin Qingqian cried out anxiously, “Chen Kai, you’ve gone too far!”
She stepped forward, ready to slap Chen Kai.
Ye Tianci caught her hand, his voice serene. “Don’t dirty your hands on him. I’ll take care of this.”
Chen Kai clapped and laughed loudly, calling out, “Everyone, come and see!”
At once, the surrounding guests gathered around.
Pointing at Lin Qingqian and Ye Tianci, Chen Kai announced, “This is Lin Qingqian, the number one beauty of Shu City!”
“The man beside her is surnamed Ye, her fiancé, a swindler who pretends to read fortunes and tells lies.”
“Lin Qingqian and her parents were so taken in by him they lost their heads and ended up expelled from their family!”

Reading the chat history, Ye Tianci’s tone turned cold. “So that’s why you’re causing trouble. Lin Weiwei put you up to this.”
“So what if she did?”
Chen Kai’s arrogance was undiminished.
Ye Tianci’s gaze drifted to Liang Feng among the crowd. A hint of a smile played at his lips. “Didn’t you want me to read your fortune, Chen Kai? Let me do it now.”
Chen Kai snorted. “Fine, I’d love to see what nonsense you’ll come up with!”
Ye Tianci studied Chen Kai’s face, then feigned shock. “Oh no, this is bad!”
Incensed, Chen Kai snapped, “Cut the act! Say what you have to say!”
“Better not. You wouldn’t believe it anyway.”
“Speak! I order you to!”
Ye Tianci looked at him impassively. “You and Lin Weiwei will never be husband and wife. She doesn’t love you.”
“Lies!”
Chen Kai’s eyes bulged. “Weiwei and I are already engaged! I’m the only man she’s ever loved!”
Ye Tianci shook his finger. “The man Lin Weiwei truly loves is right here tonight. She’s even carrying his child—but it’s not yours.”
The crowd broke into an uproar!
Guests craned their necks, eager to spot the man in question.
If Ye Tianci was telling the truth, with Chen Kai’s fiancée pregnant by another man, it wasn’t just humiliating—it was utter disgrace!
Chen Kai’s eyes nearly popped out of his head, his face flushed bright red. “Nonsense! Weiwei would never betray me!”
Ye Tianci pointed at Liang Feng. “Mr. Liang, how exactly did you secure that contract with the Lin family? Care to share with us?”
Liang Feng sensed trouble and tried to leave.
In a flash, Ye Tianci appeared behind him, tracing a charm in the air and pressing it to Liang Feng’s back.
The charm flickered and vanished.
Under its spell, Liang Feng’s eyes glazed over. He began to speak. “When Lin Weiwei came to sign the investment contract with me, I saw she was rather attractive and made a demand. She agreed without hesitation.”
“I have the entire thing recorded, with more than a hundred photos on my phone.”
