The sound of rushing water echoed from behind the closed bathroom door, as Lin Changle turned on the tap. The noise continued for over a minute before his gentle, caring voice emerged, “Honey, here’s the prescription the doctor gave. Drink it all, and you’ll feel better soon.”

“Be good, finish every last drop. I love you.”

A muffled whimper came from within the bathroom.

In the living room, Lin Qingqian pressed her forehead and frowned as she looked at Ye Tianci. “Are you sure your method really works? You’re not just messing with my mom, are you?”

Ye Tianci replied with a straight face, “I have no grudge against Auntie, and she’s your mother. Why would I do that to her? Don’t worry, I guarantee—her illness will be cured.”

Lin Qingqian shot him a playful glare and said no more.

In less than three minutes, Lin Changle carried Zheng Mei out of the bathroom and set her down on the sofa.

“The nosebleed’s stopped! Her fever’s gone too! It’s a miracle!” Lin Changle couldn’t help but praise Ye Tianci, giving him a thumbs up.

Everyone turned to look at Zheng Mei.

She was lying on the sofa, the blood washed from her face, her complexion normal, her breathing steady—half-awake, half-asleep.

“Mom, Mom, wake up,” called Lin Qingqian, giving her a gentle shake.

Zheng Mei woke with a loud belch. An acrid odor quickly filled the air, making everyone wince.

Lin Qingqian couldn’t help but cover her nose and turn away.

Zheng Mei opened her eyes, smacked her lips, and frowned, “I was half-unconscious just now—who gave me medicine?”

Standing nearby, Lin Changle grew tense, signaling anxiously to his daughter.

Lin Qingqian said with delight, “Mom, you can talk! You’re better now!”

Zheng Mei, realizing her state, touched her own face and exclaimed with excitement, “I’m really cured! I can speak! The sores in my mouth are gone! It doesn’t hurt at all!”

“Was it Master Zhang from West Street who cured me? It must have been him!”

Lin Changle said, “Honey, that so-called Master Zhang is a fraud—he cheated your mom out of a million! He didn’t cure you; it was Tianci who did.”

Zheng Mei finally noticed Ye Tianci and rolled her eyes at him with disdain, “He cured me?”

“Mom, it really was Tianci,” Lin Qingqian insisted.

Her younger sister, Zheng Ju, chimed in with a sarcastic tone, “If it weren’t for Master Zhang’s hard work, how could he have cured my sister? Isn’t that right, Mom?”

Their grandmother nodded firmly, “Ju is right. Without Master Zhang’s efforts, how could a cripple like him have cured Mei?”

Then, turning an angry gaze on Ye Tianci, she snapped, “If you hadn’t annoyed Master Zhang, he wouldn’t have charged so much. You owe me most of that million! I won’t ask for all of it—just give me eight hundred thousand!”

Zheng Ju immediately echoed, “That’s right, Ye Tianci, you have to give my mom eight hundred thousand!”

Ye Tianci couldn’t help but laugh.

“Are you out of your minds? I cured her, and you don’t thank me—instead, you credit someone else. You got conned out of a million, and now you expect me to give you eight hundred thousand?”

“Like mother, like daughter—each one more clueless than the last!”

Ye Tianci was usually calm and composed, rarely angered by anyone. But this time, he couldn’t hold back, and his words left the grandmother and Zheng Mei’s sisters red-faced and awkward.

“Qingqian! Look at him! What kind of person is Ye Tianci? Your grandmother and aunt ask him for a little money—what’s wrong with that? He turns around and spouts such foul language, with no respect for his elders! How can you be with such an irresponsible man? You must break up with him!” Zheng Mei shouted furiously.

Lin Qingqian frowned elegantly and replied unhurriedly, “Mom, I was here the whole time—I know exactly what happened. Tianci did nothing wrong. Grandma and Aunt shouldn’t have asked him for money, especially not eight hundred thousand. That’s going too far.”

Her grandmother exploded with rage, pointing at Lin Qingqian, “You ungrateful girl! Always siding with outsiders—after all I’ve done for you since you were little!”

Zheng Ju added angrily, “Who are you calling ‘going too far’? Show some respect!”

Lin Changle tried to interject, “Mom, Tianci was only trying to help. You shouldn’t—”

“Smack!” The grandmother slapped Lin Changle across the face, “Who said you could speak in the Zheng family? Get out!”

Lin Changle looked to Zheng Mei, hoping she’d support him.

Zheng Mei glared at him fiercely, “Are you still here? Leave!”

Clutching his face, Lin Changle walked away in embarrassment.

Lin Qingqian took Ye Tianci’s hand, “Let’s go.”

“Stay right there!” Zheng Mei shouted.

“Mom, what do you want from me? Isn’t it enough that you control and threaten Dad every day—now you want to control me too?” Lin Qingqian was growing angry.

Zheng Mei scolded, face dark as thunder, “How dare you talk back! I’m your mother—it’s my right to control you! If you leave with that Ye boy today, I’ll cut you off as my daughter!”

“That’s right! If you go, you’re no granddaughter of mine!” her grandmother threatened.

“And no niece of mine either!” Zheng Ju added.

Lin Qingqian looked helpless, caught between both sides.

“Qingqian, don’t let me come between you and your family. Stay here, and call me if you need anything,” Ye Tianci said softly.

After consoling Lin Qingqian, Ye Tianci left by himself.

He had just exited the residential complex when a convoy roared up and stopped beside him. There were three vehicles—the first two, rugged camouflaged off-roaders; the last, a Rolls-Royce.

The door of the Rolls-Royce opened, and Tang Qiong, dressed in civilian clothes, stepped out and saluted him respectfully. “Mr. Ye, may I have a word with you?”

Ye Tianci glanced at her and nodded.

Tang Qiong personally opened the car door for him, and Ye Tianci got in.

The two camouflaged vehicles led the way, the convoy moving swiftly through a series of green lights.

In just over ten minutes, the Rolls-Royce drove into an estate, passing a large sign at the entrance—Huichun Sanatorium.

Nestled halfway up a mountain, the sanatorium was surrounded by lush greenery, birdsong, and flowers—a tranquil retreat.

The car stopped in front of a large building.

Ye Tianci got out, and Tang Qiong led him upstairs to an office.

Tang Qiong dismissed the attendants, then knelt respectfully on one knee. “Tang Qiong greets the Gate Master!”

Ye Tianci said mildly, “Tang Zhenguo told you everything?”

Tang Qiong nodded.

“Get up,” Ye Tianci gestured.

She rose and asked quietly, “Should I call you Gate Master, or Senior Brother from now on?”

Ye Tianci smiled, “Either is fine.”

“I’ll call you Gate Master, then.” Tang Qiong smiled sweetly, then picked up a thick stack of documents from the table, handing them to him. “Gate Master, these are your assets managed by the Tang family. Grandfather sent me to hand them over for your review.”

Ye Tianci flipped through the files, surprised. “Longxiang Grand Hotel, Guli Commercial Street, Datang Entertainment Club, and Huichun Sanatorium… Are these all mine?”

“That’s right—they’re all your assets, Gate Master. Or more accurately, the property of Tianmen,” Tang Qiong replied with a smile.

Ye Tianci scratched his nose. The old man had mentioned before he left the mountain that each of the Eight Generals of Tianmen managed some of his assets, and he could take over at any time.

He hadn’t expected the Tang family in Shu City alone to be managing so many industries.

He didn’t know the scale of Guli Commercial Street or Datang Entertainment Club, but he’d just seen Huichun Sanatorium—spacious, beautifully maintained, and surely worth a fortune.

As for Longxiang Grand Hotel, it was the only six-star hotel in Shu City, valued at over a billion.

The Tang family’s willingness to transfer these assets to him showed their complete trust.

Ye Tianci smiled faintly and handed the documents back to Tang Qiong. “There’s no need to transfer them. Keep managing them—I trust your family.”

Gratitude shone on Tang Qiong’s face.

Just then, a commotion rose from downstairs.

“What’s going on?” Tang Qiong frowned.

A woman in military uniform opened the door. “General Qiong, there’s trouble downstairs.”
