Chapter 57: Let's See How You Get Out of This
Staring at Manager Wu, whose bald head gleamed under the lights, Ye Tianci sneered, “So you’re making decisions without even knowing the whole story?”
“What, you have a problem with that?” Manager Wu squinted his tiny eyes, puffing himself up. “Do you even know where you are? This is Guli Commercial Street—the most prosperous commercial street in Shu City!”
“On this street, what I say goes!”
Ye Tianci raised an eyebrow. “So this is Guli Commercial Street?”
He remembered very clearly that on the asset list Tang Qiong had given him, Guli Commercial Street was listed. He hadn’t expected it to be this place.
Wu De’s face brimmed with pride. “You don’t even know where Guli Commercial Street is? Who gave you the guts to cause trouble here?”
“Are you some washed-up singer?”
“Hurry up and pay for the damages. I’m not making things difficult for you—otherwise…”
Before he could finish, Ye Tianci cut him off coldly. “Since this is Guli Commercial Street, as its manager, you should set a good example for the tenants and raise their standards.”
“You shouldn’t allow them to treat customers with prejudice, nor let them abuse their position just because their business is big.”
“Handling matters so overbearingly and arbitrarily, without any investigation—I’d say your days as a property manager are numbered.”
Wu De was stunned speechless by Ye Tianci’s words.
He curled his lip, mocking, “Kid, are you lecturing me?”
“Is there anyone else here who needs a lesson?” Ye Tianci looked at Wu De calmly.
“Hah!”
“And just who do you think you are? You dare lecture the manager in charge of this commercial street? Are you out of your mind?”
Zhu Yan shouted loudly, then turned to Wu De. “Manager Wu, this guy is just here to cause trouble!”
“I bet he’s been sent from another commercial street to stir up trouble, trying to make a scene and post it online to ruin our reputation!”
Wu De nodded darkly, glaring at Ye Tianci. “Kid, it was one thing for you to cause trouble in our tenant’s shop, but now you’re lecturing me? You’re reckless beyond belief!”
“I’m ordering you to pay up, now! Otherwise, I’ll have you thrown straight into the Sky Patrol Pavilion’s jail!”
Ye Tianci looked at Wu De with a hint of pity. “Manager Wu, it’s not too late to admit you’re wrong and make amends.”
“If you don’t turn back now, you’re already too far gone.”
Hearing this, Wu De flew into a rage, cursing, “Damn it! You think you can ignore my warnings?”
“I’ll teach you a lesson myself before sending you off to jail!”
As his words fell, he swung his hand to slap Ye Tianci across the face.
—
A clear slap resounded, and Wu De was sent flying.
He crashed into two clothes racks and fell heavily to the floor, landing face-first in utter humiliation.
He scrambled up from the ground, two front teeth knocked out, blood streaming down his chin.
“What are you all standing around for? Get him!” Wu De shouted at the three security guards nearby, his words whistling through the gap in his teeth.
The three guards charged forward, only to be effortlessly knocked down by Ye Tianci.
Ye Tianci hadn’t been ruthless, merely rendering them temporarily incapable of moving. After all, the guards were just lower-level employees of his own business—they were innocent.
“Kid, you dare lay a hand on the manager? On the security team of this street?” Wu De shouted, his voice shaking with fury. “You’ve caused big trouble now! Do you have any idea whose property Guli Commercial Street is? You dare make a scene and hit people here—just wait, you’ll be paying up and rotting in jail! No one can save you!”
Ye Tianci’s lips curled into a wicked, cold smile. “If someone as useless as you gets hit, so be it. Pay up and go to jail? I doubt it.”
“All right, you want to act tough? Well, today’s your unlucky day—our boss happens to be here inspecting, just nearby. You just wait!”
Wu De whipped out his phone and called, “Boss, someone’s causing trouble in one of our tenants’ shops. I tried to handle it and got beaten up; the guy’s out of control, even threatening to wreck Guli Commercial Street!”
After his embellishments and false accusations, he hung up with a proud smirk.
“Our boss will be here soon!”
“Kid, when our boss arrives, I hope you’ll still be so cocky! Don’t end up kneeling and begging!”
Wu De was brimming with triumph.
Zhu Yan was just as delighted, sneering at Ye Tianci, “Let’s see how you get out of this, you loser!”
“I’ll tell you now—Guli Commercial Street belongs to the Tang family! Causing trouble here is making an enemy of them. The Tang family will make you pay dearly!”
Ye Tianci pulled out two chairs, sat down with Lin Qingqian, and smiled as he watched the two of them rant.
Soon, a Lamborghini roared up to the entrance and screeched to a halt.
A young man leapt from the car, dressed in finery, handsome and spirited—it was none other than Tang Qiong’s younger brother, Tang Ying.
—
Tang Ying strode quickly into the shop. Wu De hurried over, clutching his bleeding mouth, pointing at Ye Tianci with an aggrieved look. “Boss, this guy caused a scene in Boss Zhu’s store and even hit me.”
“Look, he knocked out two of my teeth—hurts like hell.”
Zhu Yan also hurried forward, hunched over and pitiful. “Mr. Tang, this man promised to buy my clothes, I packed them all up, but he suddenly changed his mind, got unreasonable, and assaulted people.”
“You have to stand up for me!”
Tang Ying replied coolly, “Don’t worry. As long as you’re in the right, I’ll make sure you get justice.”
Zhu Yan, full of herself now, jeered at Ye Tianci, “Hear that, loser? With Young Master Tang backing me, you’ll be paying up!”
Wu De was even more arrogant, snarling at Ye Tianci, “There’s no escaping compensation and apology now. If you don’t want to go to jail, get on your knees and beg for mercy!”
Ye Tianci remained composed, sitting calmly in his chair.
Tang Ying’s gaze landed on him—and his eyes widened in an instant.
He quickly stepped forward, pulled out a box of premium cigarettes, offered two sticks with utmost respect, and greeted him, “Big Brother, what are you doing here?”
Just that one line.
Zhu Yan was stupefied.
Wu De was dumbfounded.
What was going on?
The owner of Guli Commercial Street, the Tang family’s young master, had just offered Ye Tianci a cigarette and called him ‘Big Brother’?
Everyone else present stared wide-eyed in utter disbelief.
Even more astonishing, Ye Tianci waved away the offer. “My fiancée is here, I don’t smoke.”
“Sister-in-law is so beautiful! Hello, Sister-in-law!”
“Then I won’t smoke either!”
Tang Ying greeted Lin Qingqian, put away the cigarettes, then did something that left everyone in the shop slack-jawed.
He bent over, massaging Ye Tianci’s shoulders as he flattered him with a grin, “Big Brother, will you teach me a few moves when you have time?”
Ye Tianci laughed. “I don’t mind teaching you, but I’m afraid I might not have the chance. This property manager of yours is so impressive—he was just threatening to have me thrown in jail.”
“If I really end up in jail, I won’t have time to teach you anything.”
Tang Ying’s face immediately darkened. He glared fiercely at Wu De. “Wu De, this is Mr. Ye, my elder brother! You wanted to send my big brother to jail?”
