Chapter 95: The Poison Maiden of the Witchfire Sect!
Ye Tianci had prepared more than one grand gift for Qi Changling. His visit to the Qi Tian Mansion tonight was merely to deliver one of them.
Surely, this particular gift would delight Qi Changling.
A servant brought in wine and a fruit platter, then withdrew respectfully.
With a pop, Tang Ying uncorked a bottle of Hennessy, pouring a glass for Ye Tianci before filling his own.
“Big brother, whatever you’re up to tonight, your little brother will be by your side.”
Tang Ying was exuberant, raising his glass for Ye Tianci to drink first.
He gulped down two mouthfuls.
“Ugh!” Tang Ying spat out a mouthful, slamming the cup down.
“What’s wrong?”
“Damn it! It’s fake!”
Ye Tianci smiled. “Fake? Are you sure?”
Tang Ying was indignant. “This brandy line—Remy Martin, Hennessy, Martell—I’ve had them plenty of times. I can tell real from fake at a sip!”
“Hell, minimum spending is half a million, and they have the nerve to serve us fake wine?”
“They must think we’re idiots with money to burn! I’ll settle this right now!”
Ye Tianci smiled calmly and gestured for him to sit. “Don’t rush. Haste ruins the feast.”
Just then, the manager of Qi Tian Mansion, Wu Fangyan, entered. He wore gold-rimmed glasses and looked refined, his small squinting eyes sharp.
“Gentlemen, I am Wu Fangyan, manager of Qi Tian Mansion. The hostesses have arrived. Please enjoy yourselves to the fullest.”
Wu Fangyan wore a beaming smile.
Anyone who could afford to sit in their top-tier suite at half a million a night was no ordinary guest. Wu Fangyan had come specifically to check, finding both men unfamiliar.
A young woman followed behind him, indeed beautiful, her slender legs shimmering temptingly under the lights.
Tang Ying swallowed and glanced at Ye Tianci.
Ye Tianci waved his hand indifferently.
Tang Ying instantly caught on. “No good! Bring another!”
“All right, all right! Right away!” Wu Fangyan urged the hostess beside him. “Go fetch number eighteen!”
The girl left and soon returned with another young woman, her skin even fairer, her attire more alluring, her beauty surpassing the previous by a margin. Her eyes, every smile and gesture, radiated a seductive charm.
Tang Ying’s eyes were glued to her.
Yet Ye Tianci remained unmoved, waving his hand again.
“No good! Another!” Tang Ying barked.
Soon, another hostess entered.
“Not satisfied! Change again!”
“Change!”
“Keep changing!”
...
Within ten minutes, Ye Tianci and Tang Ying had cycled through seven hostesses, as if they were viewing flowers from horseback.
After yet another request to change, Wu Fangyan’s patience began to fray. “Gentlemen, is there something amiss with our hostesses, or perhaps with our service?”
Ye Tianci spoke calmly, “No complaints. Keep changing.”
Tang Ying chimed in, “Did you hear? My big brother said no complaints—just keep changing, so keep changing!”
Wu Fangyan suppressed his anger, forcing a smile. “Of course.”
He turned, speaking coldly into his intercom, “Send Poppy to Spring River Moon Night.”
Soon, a dazzling young woman entered the suite.
She wore a petite black top, barely covering her proud curves, and black tight shorts, her fair and slender legs strikingly prominent.
Her beauty outshone all previous hostesses.
Even compared to top beauties like Lin Qingqian or Tang Qiong, she was no less impressive.
In a word: stunning.
Two words: breathtaking.
Tang Ying gazed at her, barely containing his excitement.
Wu Fangyan, noticing Tang Ying’s expression, was inwardly pleased, his lips curling into a smile. “Gentlemen, this is Miss Poppy, our number one hostess at Qi Tian Mansion.”
“If you are still not satisfied, I, Wu Fangyan, truly have no more options.”
Ye Tianci was about to wave her off when his gaze caught a peculiar flame-shaped tattoo at her navel—strikingly conspicuous.
“A woman of the Witchfire Sect!”
Ye Tianci’s pupils contracted slightly, though his expression remained unchanged.
Shen Cangyun had been cursed at Qingcheng Hospital, where Chief Jin Dao, Chu Feng, was a Witchfire Sect member. Today, Tang Qiong had secretly informed Ye Tianci of her findings: Qingcheng Hospital was private, with the Qi family as major shareholders!
Ye Tianci strongly suspected a connection among the Qi family, Qingcheng Hospital, Qi Tian Mansion, and the Witchfire Sect.
Now, he had found evidence right here!
“She’ll do,” Ye Tianci nodded calmly.
Wu Fangyan, pleased, turned and whispered something into Poppy’s ear—using lip movements.
Poppy, giggling, stepped gracefully between Ye Tianci and Tang Ying and took a seat.
Ye Tianci cleared his throat, and Tang Ying immediately took Poppy’s hand, eagerly pulling her into his arms.
“Master, why so impatient? Your friend is still here. You can’t enjoy all the fun alone,” Poppy cooed flirtatiously.
Her seductive attire, enchanting looks, and coquettish manner made her appear like a fox spirit tempting souls.
Just holding her, Tang Ying was nearly overwhelmed.
Such a peerless beauty would befuddle anyone who met her.
“That’s my big brother; no need to mind him. Come, drink with me,” Tang Ying said.
Tang Ying poured the fake wine, entwined his arm with Poppy’s, and they drank in mutual embrace.
With beauty by his side, Tang Ying found even fake wine delicious.
Poppy giggled, keeping him company.
After a few drinks, the two were locked in a passionate embrace.
“Mmm…”
Ye Tianci suddenly heard a strange sound from Tang Ying, and saw clearly that Tang Ying’s body jerked unnaturally.
Moments later, Poppy and Tang Ying separated.
Ye Tianci saw distinctly a bizarre blue glow flicker through Tang Ying’s neck veins.
Tang Ying had fallen victim!
Ye Tianci sneered inwardly, but his face remained eerily calm.
Poppy, giggling, asked Tang Ying, “Master, what’s your surname and given name?”
“My surname is Tang, given name Tang Ying. My father is Tang Yunyi, my grandfather Tang Zhenguo.”
Tang Ying spoke mechanically, his expression wooden, revealing all his background!
Poppy smiled seductively. “So you’re a young master of the Tang family—no wonder you’re so generous.”
She turned, casting a flirtatious glance at Ye Tianci, her fiery body shifting closer, slender fingers resting on Ye Tianci’s shoulder. “And you, young master, may I ask your esteemed name? Why so aloof?”
Ye Tianci’s lips curled, and he pulled Poppy into his arms. “If you don’t come close, how would you know I’m cold? Perhaps my fire could burn you.”
He emphasized the word “fire.”
Poppy smiled mysteriously, her face almost pressed to Ye Tianci’s, a fragrant scent wafting over. Had Ye Tianci not possessed strong willpower, he might have fallen as Tang Ying did.
“Master, you have quite the fiery temper. Shall I help you cool off?” Poppy said, her red lips moving closer to Ye Tianci’s mouth.
Her seductive demeanor sealed Ye Tianci’s lips, just as she was about to make her move, she suddenly screamed!
“Ah!”
Poppy clutched her throat, retreating in panic, blood trickling from her lips.
She stared in terror at her navel, where dark blood was also slowly seeping out.
“You… you broke my Bewitching Gu! You even knew my weakness, destroyed my cultivation!”
“Who are you?!”
Poppy looked at Ye Tianci in horror.
Ye Tianci rose slowly, his voice calm. “I’ve heard the Witchfire Sect leader Wu Xingyun personally trained eighteen Poison Maidens, experts in Bewitching Gu and poisons, scattered across Daxia. You must be one of them.”
“As for who I am, a mere Poison Maiden like you isn’t qualified to know.”
Poppy’s eyes narrowed, murderous intent flashing. “You think crippling my cultivation means you’ll leave unharmed?”
“Prepare to die!”
Poppy gritted her teeth, her delicate palm suddenly slashing toward Ye Tianci!
