In the room, Gu Sha began absorbing the corpse cores.

Outside, a squad of fully armed soldiers stood guard, keeping anyone from disturbing him.

After a long while, all the corpse cores in that bundle had been completely absorbed.

Gu Sha slowly opened his eyes, and the radiance that had been flowing from his body gradually faded away.

"Fourth-tier War King."

He let out a long breath of turbid air, and a glint flashed deep in his pupils.

Then Gu Sha activated his perception and discovered that Mad Blade was actually waiting outside the door. Feeling somewhat puzzled, he went to open it and asked, "Blade, what are you doing here?"

Mad Blade had some bandages wrapped around him. When he heard Gu Sha's voice, he said in delight, "Boss, are you done?"

Gu Sha nodded.

Mad Blade hurriedly said, "Boss, the First Elder of the Cabinet wants to speak with you!"

Gu Sha's pupils narrowed slightly.

Without paying attention, had he already reached this level?

He naturally knew who the First Elder was: a truly great figure. Before the apocalypse, he had been the foremost leader of Dragon Continent, and after the apocalypse began, he had overseen Dragon Continent's development in its entirety, remaining its supreme leader ever since.

Such a person was far too distant in Gu Sha's mind. He had never once felt that they might have any connection at all.

But then, on second thought, he suddenly realized something.

His identity was no longer the same. He was the world's foremost extraordinary being; in this apocalypse, if one truly spoke of status, no one could claim to stand above him.

Mad Blade looked at Gu Sha, somewhat uneasy, and said, "Boss, the First Elder said that if you're busy, he can wait. Whenever you're free, he can speak with you at any time."

"We can do it now," Gu Sha said.

Soon after, Mad Blade led Gu Sha to a conference room.

Dozens of soldiers stood guard outside, with heavy weapons deployed and the perimeter sealed tight.

Gu Sha sat in a chair and drank tea.

Mad Blade hurriedly activated the communication device.

Very soon, a large screen on the wall lit up. Inside was another conference room, filled with people. They were all figures one could only normally see in Federation news broadcasts. Even Han Ze, the honorary chairman of the J City Superhuman Association, was among them, though he sat at the very edge.

"Good evening, leaders!" Mad Blade stood at attention and saluted.

Gu Sha, on the other hand, simply sipped his tea as if nothing were amiss, and gave a faint smile.

Mad Blade just hadn't yet adjusted his mindset. With his current extraordinary cultivation, already approaching the ninth tier, he could absolutely enter the world's top ten. His status was by no means lower than those people on the screen.

"Good evening, Mad Blade," said the elder in the center of the conference room in a very gentle tone. Then he waved toward Gu Sha. "Gu Sha, a pleasure to meet you for the first time."

Gu Sha smiled slightly. "Hello, sir."

The First Elder said, "Originally, I planned to invite you to Capital City in two days for a face-to-face discussion. But Mad Blade just reported to us what you saw in the other-dimensional space, and the matter is far too重大. It is beyond what our Dragon Continent alone can handle.

"So, after discussion, we decided to submit an application to the Federation government requesting a world summit. At that time, we hope that you, as humanity's foremost extraordinary being, will attend and explain this matter to the representatives from all continents. I wonder whether you would be willing?"

Gu Sha hesitated for a moment and asked, "Will it be held in J City?"

"I'm not sure," the First Elder said. "The meeting location has not yet been decided. It will need to be discussed and finalized by the Federation."

Gu Sha said, "If you want me to attend, then the meeting must be held in Dragon Continent. That is my condition."

"Very well," the First Elder said readily. "I will submit the proposal to the Federation government. Also, let's speak of something else. Do you have any plans lately?"

Gu Sha shook his head. "Not for now."

"Then how about coming to J City to guide us for a while?" the First Elder said with a smile. "I am very optimistic about the model you previously worked out together with Chairman Han. Now, in the official name of Dragon Continent, we are issuing you a custom mission: come to J City and guide the construction work of the Superhuman Association. As for the price, you name it. J City has quite a stockpile of aberrant bones and corpse cores."

Gu Sha smiled faintly. "Would it be all right if I wanted everything?"

The First Elder laughed warmly. "Of course."

Gu Sha froze.

At that moment, Chairman Han, seated at the edge of the conference room, raised his hand to request the floor, and with the First Elder's permission, he spoke at once.

"God of Slaughter, come to J City. With your guidance in our development, we will certainly make great progress. And as for the aberrant bones and corpse cores the chief mentioned just now, they do exist. You don't need to doubt their authenticity. Leaving aside the current cosmic disaster, even if it were only the disaster facing our Earth, you would still be worthy of Dragon Continent's full support. Back then, the chief ignored all opposition and appointed you as the first rank precisely for this purpose!"

Gu Sha smiled faintly. "All right. I'll come as soon as possible."

After that, Gu Sha chatted briefly with the First Elder, and the call ended.

"B-boss," Mad Blade said excitedly, "can I... can I go with you to J City?"

Gu Sha raised an eyebrow. "Do you think the S City Barrier will let you run around wherever you want? Unless the world summit is officially set, you won't get a chance to wander anywhere else."

Mad Blade looked crestfallen.

He naturally knew Gu Sha was telling the truth. As the strongest person in the S City Barrier, he was not merely a high-end combat asset; more importantly, he served to steady people's hearts.

"Then... then we'll see each other at the world summit," Mad Blade said hesitantly. "Boss, let's keep in touch by phone then. If you ever need a runner, you must remember to call me. I'll come running whenever you need me!"

Gu Sha gave a light laugh but said nothing.

Mad Blade scratched his head and said, "Following behind you and picking up the leftovers feels amazing. Being carried all the way, boss, we at least have the bond of having slaughtered our way through chaos together!"

Gu Sha: "?"

"We two? Slaughtering our way through chaos together?"

Mad Blade nodded furiously. "Isn't that right? You were responsible for the slaughter in front, and I was responsible for the cawing in back!"

Gu Sha: "..."

...

Gu Sha did not stay long at the temporary military base in that primeval forest.

The next day, the S City Barrier delivered a large quantity of super bombs. They had not managed to obtain a nuclear bomb; the launch requirements for that thing were too strict. However, the various other explosives they brought were enough to blast that small space to pieces.

What was more, the S City Barrier authorities also announced that they would continue to drop explosives for a period of time, until that small space was thoroughly destroyed.

After resting for a day, Gu Sha boarded the plane to J City under arrangements made by the S City Barrier.
