Brains and blood splattered across the floor. Murakawa and the other high-ranking officials of the Ghost Island Continent turned deathly pale.

"Yes, yes, yes, Lord Gu Sha! I will personally lead people to beg for their forgiveness immediately!" Murakawa bowed and scraped, while the other senior officials followed suit, groveling before him.

Gu Sha let out a cold snort. In his previous life, he had dealt with the people of Ghost Island. He didn’t know if it was some kind of ingrained heritage, but the more polite one was to them, the more insufferably arrogant and demanding they became. Conversely, toward those who were firm and didn't hesitate to use violence, they became cringing and subservient.

They were simply spineless!

Gu Sha casually pointed to two Ghost Island ministers and said, "You two, lead the way. I’m going to find the Rice Continent delegation."

"Yes, yes, at once, please."

No one dared to oppose Gu Sha. The two men he had pointed out were tense, their faces plastered with ingratiating smiles as they bowed and gestured for Gu Sha to exit.

Watching Gu Sha leave, Murakawa and the other officials felt a wave of relief. Some collapsed onto the floor, gasping for air.

"That man... is he a god?" someone exclaimed in awe.

"How could a human be that powerful?"

A military minister sidled up to Murakawa and asked, "Chief, what do we do now?"

"What else can we do?" Murakawa roared. "That idiot Okada! If it weren't for him, we wouldn't be facing this disaster. Everything was caused by that fool. Dying so easily is letting him off too lightly. Go, kill his entire family!"

Someone immediately left to carry out the order.

Then, Murakawa struggled to his feet and said, "Prepare yourselves. Notify all the ministers to come with me now. We must invite those from the Dragon Continent in, or we will not be able to withstand Gu Sha’s wrath."

The ministers hurried out. Just then, one whispered, "Chief, that Gu Sha is too terrifying. Will this affect our plans for later?"

Murakawa glared at him and said, "Do you honestly think he can kill a god?"

The D-City barrier was currently in chaos. Gu Sha had not only blasted a massive ruin inside the barrier but had also trampled a breach into the defensive wall, attracting an onslaught of zombies and mutated beasts. It was only thanks to the Ghost Island Continent’s ample weapon reserves that they had managed to plug the gap.

Even so, D-City was in an uproar. Dust filled the air, rubble rained down, and officials were scrambling to organize teams to clear the debris.

At a luxury hotel, a group of people from the Rice Continent had gathered, including both an extraordinary squad and an official delegation. The leader of the extraordinary squad was Jery, the current second-ranked extraordinary in human history, who enjoyed immense popularity on global forums.

There had always been skeptics on the forums regarding Gu Sha’s true power, and Jery was the ringleader of the anti-Gu Sha camp. As the global number two, he was the closest to the number one spot. When the Federation first established the global rankings, Jery had been deeply dissatisfied with his second-place position and had publicly provoked Gu Sha many times. Though the Rice Continent hadn't originally planned for Jery to join the expedition to the Ghost Island Continent, he had insisted on coming once Gu Sha publicly accepted challenges from powerhouses across all continents. His goal was simple: to prove to all of humanity that he was the strongest.

However, despite his confidence—and his belief that Gu Sha’s top ranking was a fabrication by the Dragon Continent—Jery decided to play it safe and test Gu Sha's strength first.

The Ghost Island Continent had always been a lapdog to the Rice Continent. Upon learning of their master's intent, they naturally had dogs willing to wag their tails to solve their master's problems; Okada, the commander of the Ghost Island barrier defense forces, was the prime example. Following Jery’s instructions, Okada had ordered the harassment of the Dragon Continent delegation without consulting his own superiors, all to force Gu Sha to show his hand.

Yet, Gu Sha’s reaction exceeded everyone's imagination. He had single-handedly turned the D-City barrier upside down!

It couldn't be said that Okada had failed entirely. Although Gu Sha hadn't fought zombies outside the walls as they had hoped, he had indeed displayed his power—a power so outrageous it bordered on the absurd. Upon witnessing that god-like, demonic strength, Jery immediately abandoned the idea of challenging him.

At that moment, Okada had fled to the Rice Continent delegation for protection. Jery was satisfied with his lapdog and didn't want to see such a useful tool killed, so after receiving Gu Sha’s ultimatum, he sent two extraordinary-ranked members to escort Okada to the military building to face Gu Sha.

However, his actions drew criticism from the delegation. The leader, the Secretary-General of the Rice Continent’s External Affairs Department, approached Jery and said, "Jery, I don't think your recent actions were appropriate. By sending Eric and the others to deliver Okada, you are effectively admitting that we instigated Okada’s actions."

"And so what?" Jery replied. "Having Eric and the others go to explain is already giving that Dragon Continent man enough face. We represent the Rice Continent; when have we ever needed to explain ourselves to others? Giving this man from the Dragon Continent so much face—is he not satisfied?"

The Secretary-General argued, "But he is the first-ranked! Didn't you see him just now? That man... he is like a god. I believe we should be vehemently denying any connection to Okada, not confirming it. If that man gets angry, who can stop him? Can you?"

"I cannot," Jery said bluntly. "I am no match for him, even though I am on the verge of opening my ninth genetic lock. But he won't attack us. He wouldn't dare. No matter how angry he is, he has to endure it, because we represent the most powerful force on Earth: the Rice Continent! No matter how strong that man is, he cannot save humanity, nor can he save the entire Dragon Continent. In this damned world, no one can save humanity or even guarantee their own survival except us. The Dragon Continent relies on us for so much. What could this man, Gu Sha, possibly do? Besides, by having Eric go to explain, I have already given him ample face. He should be grateful to us and take this opportunity to curry favor, to earn the friendship of the Rice Continent. That is what a smart man would do!"
