Chapter 84: A World of Eerie Mystery
Gu Sha did not bother arguing with Crazy Blade about his posturing and let him in.
Crazy Blade’s appearance lived up to his nickname. He carried an enormous cleaver on his back, weighing at least fifty or sixty pounds. His features were rugged, his face covered in a thick beard, and although he wore a grin, it looked fierce enough to frighten any child into tears.
Crazy Blade ordered his underling, Yellow Hair, to keep watch outside, while he followed Gu Sha through the door.
Gu Sha gestured for Crazy Blade to sit and said, “Uh, well… Brother Blade…”
Crazy Blade leapt up, straightened his back, bowed deeply, and greeted, “Lord Death God, hello! My name is Wang Jian, nickname Crazy Blade. You can just call me Little Blade. I’m thirty-two years old. I used to be a hired muscle for guarding venues. After the apocalypse descended, I consumed a few source beads. Now I’m Extraordinary Level Six, Ability Level Two, and my ability is Strength Type…”
“Uh,” Gu Sha looked at Crazy Blade’s earnest demeanor, his lips twitching slightly, and said, “I’m not recruiting little brothers to play the big boss. No need to be so, uh, formal!”
Crazy Blade scratched his head, speaking cautiously, “Boss… You really aren’t going to beat me up?”
Gu Sha asked in confusion, “Why would I beat you up?”
Crazy Blade replied awkwardly, “Didn’t I brag on the forum about challenging you? I thought you’d rough me up first. Back when we ran with the gangs, if someone dared provoke us, they’d always get beaten first.”
Gu Sha waved his hand, signaling Crazy Blade to sit, and laughed, “Aren’t you known as the top fighter in S City? What’s there to be afraid of?”
“Hehe,” Crazy Blade grinned, “Boss, I may not be well educated, but I’m not stupid. We all know about your solo fight against the Liu Family army at the C City Barrier a month ago. Many say you only managed it because you snatched that weapon from the Purification Society, but to get your hands on that weapon proves you were already powerful a month ago.
Now, though plenty claim they could replicate your feat, aren’t they all built up by the official resources after the Qi Guiding Technique was developed? Myself included—I barely reached Level Four before the Qi Guiding Technique emerged. Advancing to Level Six so quickly was thanks to official resources. But you, Boss, even with the Qi Guiding Technique available, you refused to join the authorities, which means you’re absolutely confident in yourself.
I’m sure I can’t beat you. If anyone’s to challenge you, it should be those sequence powerhouses, not me. I just talk big online. Actually coming to challenge you would be asking for a beating.”
Gu Sha looked at Crazy Blade and thought to himself, no wonder this guy became a top battle king in the future, surviving all the way to the point when Gu Sha was reborn.
Though he loved to show off, there was no denying he was quite self-aware.
In Gu Sha’s twenty years of memories, he recalled Crazy Blade, though he’d never met him in person. He’d seen news reports about Crazy Blade, knew he’d always been at the S City Barrier, a renowned battle king with high status.
Gu Sha poured Crazy Blade a cup of tea and asked, “Were you the first to discover that alternate space?”
Crazy Blade, surprised by the gesture, took the tea and replied, “Yes, Boss, I was the first. Let me tell you, the official story left some details out. I didn’t just see it—I actually went inside.”
Without needing to be asked, Crazy Blade volunteered the information.
He said, “I was ordered to pick up some important figures. The plane flew over a mountain, and since there could be hidden flying zombie beasts attacking, I stayed alert the entire way.
We didn’t encounter any zombie beasts, but as we crossed a canyon, suddenly, as if caught in a ghost maze, the plane got lost, navigation failed, all signals vanished.
Unable to fly out, we had to make an emergency landing. I told the pilot to stay in the plane while I went out to investigate. After circling the forest a few times, my head suddenly felt heavy, and I sensed a powerful force pulling me in. I couldn’t resist and was dragged in.
In an instant, my surroundings changed. I found myself in a modern city, perfectly preserved, just like those cities before the apocalypse—people everywhere, bright lights, bustling nightlife.”
Gu Sha raised his eyebrows.
This was reminiscent of many supernatural tales.
Crazy Blade continued, “Because I had a gun, the local Law Guard took me in, questioned me thoroughly. Since I didn’t understand the situation, I cooperated honestly.
Unexpectedly, they weren’t surprised by my origins. Eventually, they brought me to meet the city’s top leaders, who revealed something shocking: I had arrived in another world.”
Gu Sha frowned, “Another world? What do you mean?”
Crazy Blade explained, “They told me their place wasn’t Earth, but a world called Tianyuan Realm. However, a catastrophic disaster shattered Tianyuan Realm, causing space turbulence. Their city drifted through the cosmos, and due to spatial backflow or other inexplicable reasons, it connected with Earth. I don’t really understand the specifics.
According to them, their city is an independent space, and so is Earth. But because the two spaces collided, cracks appeared, making both unstable. At any moment, a passage might form, allowing travel between the two.
They said this isn’t the first time Earthlings have wandered in. Their history records many incidents, especially in recent years—it’s becoming more frequent. So my arrival wasn’t unexpected.
With their help and advanced technology, they opened a spatial fissure, and I returned to the original forest and left safely by plane.”
After listening, Gu Sha was full of surprise.
If Crazy Blade was telling the truth, his earlier suspicions about the alternate space were confirmed. In his memories, many future legends emerged from such spaces, like Battle Emperor Meng Qingping of C City, Domain Lord Gu Xiao, and others.
Later on, Earth’s area expanded dramatically, likely because the alternate space merged with Earth.
But—
Gu Sha asked, “So why does the S City Barrier’s official side want to explore it again?”
Crazy Blade replied, “After I reported this, the authorities deliberated and decided this might be humanity’s chance at self-preservation. They want to see if it’s possible to open a spatial fissure and transfer survivors inside!”
